On Visibility
announcementschangelog
I've realized that no one has visibility in to what is being built or changed on Supplement Atlas. As I'm currently working on a very large feature (user accounts) I needed to divert some energy in to a small side project, which was this. Intending on initially using this as a changelog for the site, and I will be making an effort to add updates with each commit.
What's been pushed recently:
- The massive update to search, including all the work around making sure filters work and work as expected (e.g. when you filter for a type of protein it'll show you products that match, but if you filter an allergen, it'll show you products that don't have it).
- Price Updates which were a long time coming. We now pull prices daily.
- Notable Price Dips which utilizes the price updates to find products that are at their lowest price in a while. You can find this on the best deals page.
- A whole load of under the hood scaffolding for future features.
What's gone out in the past day or so
- This, the blog.
- Visual changes (font, spacing)
- Bug fixes (the dropdown cards now properly slide up and down)
What's next
- Accounts which are already active but currently don't do anything. Anticipating this to be publically usable and useful within a week or so.
- Reviews, the bread and butter. The data modeling and some frontend components are already done. Needs to be wired up to all the right places and attached to user accounts.
- This will include comprehensive attributes such as the intensity of taste, mixability, etc.
- The ultimate goal is to build a product where you can choose what level of sweetness you want, what elements are important in the supplements or protein powders you use, and help you find exactly what you want based on as many signals as you want or need. This isn't going to be an out-of-five-stars style.
Stay tuned.
